congrats... i thought it was 3 months and celebrated too early... oh well been 2 years I hope I am inactive by now! enjoy LIFE

why I like this site
by nancy drew ini like this site (aside from the fact that we have the jw experience in common) because i have come to realize that all of you are very creative, interesting & courageous.
it takes a special person to exit the jw's.
we all of course are also very different & thats good because we can learn from each other.

Some very good news
by I quit! ini called a friend of mine who i hadn't seen since last labor day to see how he was doing.
we were in the watchtower together in the early seventies.
he quit going around that time.

I got to informally witness at work today!
by pirata inco-worker (who doesn't know a lot about jws) wanted to know good questions to ask jws when they come to the door.. i told him to ask about the meaning of "the generation" or how to calculate 1914.. after explaining to him him the history of the generation changes and the current overlapping generation meaning today, he said "that's genius because they can just keep overlapping it when armageddon doesn't come.
one generation passes the baton to the next".

Some very good news

Were you Stalked or Chased After Once you Exited the JW's by Elders ?
by flipper ini tried to fade off the map by moving 30 miles initially in 2004 after i exited in late 2003 .
the first several years they didn't bother me.
i ran into a elder from my former congregation in late 2005 in an antique store - he tried telling me i was wrong for stopping attending meetings.

well... yes and no.. one elder thought he had reason to DF me. He stalked like a sick freek. I told them I would only talk to them with my lawyer, worldly husband, and tape recorder and I would make public every word that was said... I would sue them if any anounment was made about me... anyway... have not been bothered by them since. they know I ment it. my husband has a good enough job to cause them problems. they are sick people

Divorce
by ssn587 inmy brother has been married over 30 years, is drawing ssn disability, va disability and military retirement, he is wondering what his spouse my sil would be entitled to if they were to get a divorce.
guess things aren't all that rosy for him and he has been very unhappy for a number of years.
his wife doesn't want anything to do with us, doesn't like us and never has.

it's state to state. divorced in WV so i know here it is 50/50 marital assets. of course my ex kept 100% creap. google Texas divorce laws. the states are all different

from what i know the wt from sunday had something to do with christ (just read title of blondies comments.
so what was the purpose of such a comment?

I just went to a JW wedding. a great family not strong jw's. anyway a few strong jw's were there and it was great being with my worldly husband and being so happy and seeing them so nervous because of the questionable music or whatever they didn't approve of. I'm sure they can see that I am so so so much happier and have some lame excuse for it.
